Dens Joshua Franco Wins 2nd Prize at WORLDBEX 2025March 26, 2025

Dens Joshua S. Franco, a senior studying interior design at the University of the Philippines Diliman, won the 2nd prize in the recent Projeto Ideas and Design Competition: Interior Design Category, which was part of the WORDLBEX 2025 trade show events held this March. This recognition places him 3rd among the Top 6 finalists. The competition attracted 60 entries from across the country, consisting of group and individual entries.

The competition's theme centered on creating a sustainable and inclusive learning environment for Special Education students in a public school. Franco’s concept, The Sandbox, reimagines the traditional classroom as an immersive and adaptive learning space. Designed for neurodivergent students, it provides structured flexibility, allowing children to explore, engage, and shape their own learning experiences. By integrating sensory-friendly design, modular spaces, and interactive elements, The Sandbox offers a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where every child feels included, heard, and empowered to learn.
